Fashion Week Files: Honor Autumn/Winter 2015 Runway Show

Honor’s Fall 2015 showing…

…went into the woods – literally. Designer Giovanna Randall adorned many of her looks with a woodland deer print, tiny floral embroidery, and a truffle motif. Keeping with the theme, models emerged from a mushroom covered tree wearing outerwear and feminine frocks reminiscent of fairytale princesses.

There was an innocence and pureness to the collection and somehow I felt myself being transported back to my childhood.  I could imagine Little Red Riding Hood traipsing through the forest in a delicate tomato colored dress with a scalloped neckline and sleeves. Or Snow White emerging from her deep slumber to greet her Prince Charming in an ice blue flower embellished gown made of smooth taffeta.

It was all very surreal.

The audience seemed to be captivated as well. With a front row that consisted of Fashion Week fixtures, Jhene Aiko, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Tallulah Willis (in all her shaved head glory) Honor’s loyal following of bohemian tastemakers continue to make this one of those highly sought after NYC brands that keep people coming back in droves. Somehow getting lost in the forest doesn’t seem so scary after all.
