The Scoop: Inside of Ryka Shoe’s Spring 2014 Campaign

As I enjoyed a week long trip to Los Angeles just before Thanksgiving, my time on the left coast came filled with a number of fascinating opportunities, launch parties, and quite a few behind the scenes exclusives.
One in particular came from Ryka, an athletic footwear made exclusively for women. Strolling through Hollywood to shoot the new campaign of their latest collection, we couldn’t be more delighted to report on and share this with our female readers.
On a bright and sunny Tuesday of mid-November, TheTriumphantScoop hiked drove to the top of one of the highest points of the Hollywood Hills for a sneak peek at how Ryka was putting things down. Staring three of Ryka’s personal brand ambassadors, this beautifully enclosed scenic sanctuary was the privately reserved point of Ryka shoe’s 2014 Spring Campaign photoshoot. Griffith Park, a large community park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, is where we began this exciting and exclusive sneak peek of Ryka’s latest production. About a mile apart from the exact shoot location stood Ryka’s temporary headquarters, where models did wardrobe changes, shoe changes, touch-ups, and grabbed courtesy waters, snacks, etc. Our media spectating came as day 2 of Ryka’s two-day campaign shoot. Aside from Ryka’s colorful display of shoes for their campaign shoot, they were kind enough to offer us a courtesy pair of shoes to hike up the mountain in. As we weren’t the only media on deck, my exclusive tour also included none other than LA’s own Miss Los Angeles Latina Adriana Michelle. In regards to foot luxury, Adriana later told me that Ryka’s shoes are the most comfortable she has ever worn! [Photo courtesy of Miss Los Angeles Instagram: @miss_losangeles] At the time that Miss Los Angeles and I had arrived to set, Ryka’s shoot was in full throttle, playing out on top of the same mountain which the world famous Hollywood sign sits on. Since the shoot took place directly above where the Hollywood sign sat, we weren’t given the pleasure of it’s view during our hike. However, as we climbed the hill Ryka’s publicist did point out the shoot location, which at this point looked 100 miles away. Unlike New York, Los Angeles is filled with an unending party of panoramic scenery which captivates people to fly in from all over the earth, just for use as beautiful scenic backdrops. Hence forth, my excitement to snap photos over each cliff we stopped at to catch our breathe. During my trip, it was funny to shriek and get excited every time I stumbled upon an amazing view or rode through the valley overlooking the Hollywood hills and such, then to see my friends gently roll their eyes at all my touristy reactions. Similar to how New Yorkers react when people are excited for Time Square, take pictures in front of Macy’s on 34th street, and stop to watch street performers for hours at a time. At last, we made it to the top of the mountain, where Ryka’s brand ambassadors were in the midst of shooting some of their final images of the day. The sun was setting, and having hiked to one of the highest points of the city, we all felt productive. The soaring LA views played up plenty of positive energy for everyone on location. Heading back down to the set-up site, I chit-chatted with Miss Los Angeles Latina about everything from the Hollywood life, to what it’s like winning her title, and how lucky she was to fit Ryka’s shoes! (I had on cowboy boots this day, not exactly the best thing to hike in.) Our super duper amazing view during the hike back down. As the California sun hit the deck for the evening, Miss Los Angeles Latina dropped in her Splash TV microphone and insisted I toss in a short drop about our experience of the day. Such a cool opportunity.
And to think, I almost didn’t make here thanks to LA traffic!
