Is Chanel’s Two-Bag Trend Ideal for a City-Girl on the go?
It’s a bit non-negotiable: we city-girls on-the-go must always look fabulous while running within a metropolis. But let’s be honest, sometimes we would love our fashion to be a little more practical. I’m sure practicality was far from fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld’s vision when he put together his Spring 2019 show for Paris Fashion Week.
Not one, but two Chanel bags were crossed over the models’ shoulders as they came down the runway. Ideal for a city-girl or not?
For one, the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week always brings a wave of excitement amongst fashion lovers. The high fashion brand has become known for its over-the-top themes at PFW, and this season, Karl Lagerfeld didn’t let us down. For the spring 2019 collection, the Grand Palais in Paris was transformed into a real life beach for a bigger-than-life sea-themed fashion show with real sand, crashing waves, boardwalks and lifeguard stands.
Swapping the vision of their typical bikini and caftans beach wear, Chanel suggests we should be wearing tweeds, spring coats, a high-slit skirt, matching co-ords and oversized vests the next time we’re going to the beach. Strutting with us the most was the double bag trend that Chanel introduced as an implementation into our everyday outfits. A clear assumption; this impractical bag trend will soon be seen all over the city, and probably all over your Instagram feed.
Many of the models on the Chanel runway were strapped into two crossbody bags with a little Chanel clasp holding them together at the chest. It actually looks pretty comfortable and even better, very practical. Let’s be honest, weren’t were all getting tired of the micro bag trend that only fits a lipstick and some cash? We all know the struggles! As a city-girl on the go, we can all use a little extra storage so the double bag trend might be ideal for us. As long as we don’t forget where we put our keys.
I must say, Chanel did some genius marketing with this trend, one we’re accepting as an brilliant option to conquering the city. Excuse us, while we finesse a way to afford not just one but two Chanel bags.
