$40m to Create “floating beach club”:

News just broke of Benetti’s new and impressive $40m Oasis superyacht which caters to those lusting after a luxurious summer escape from their busy city lives whilst avoiding the spread of Covid-19.

The yacht features an expandable sun deck that almost touches the waves, along with an infinity pool and a bar. The inside boasts a large main deck saloon and 5 bedrooms, as well as spaces that can be used for fitness lounges and spas. The superyacht is minimal and classic and oozes Italian style.

3 Days Worth of New York Fashion Week:

New York Fashion Week’s days have been slashed amidst major disruption from the Covid-19 pandemic. Digital showcasings from London and Shanghai have already taken place. 

The inevitable alterations do not stop there as Michael Kors announced he will be withholding his spring/summer 2021 collections in September. He expressed his plans to collaborate with luxury labels such as YSL and Gucci, where they will begin to distance from the traditional fashion calendar.

14 PPP Loans to Luxury Restaurant chain:

It was revealed on Monday 6th July that Nobu, the high-end sushi restaurant chain co-founded by actor Robert De Niro, celebrity chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa and film producer Meir Teper recently accepted as much as $27.7 million in taxpayer-backed loans from the Paycheck Protection Program.

CNBC first reported that Nobu has received 14 loans from the federal small business relief program organized amidst the chaos of the coronavirus pandemic. The Small Business Administration discloses a range for the loan sizes rather than precise dollar amounts, but it is speculated that the Nobu brand received between $11 million and $27.7 million.

80 Artists Use the Sky as a Canvas to Convey Powerful Message: 

There are currently over 200 immigration detention centers across America. According to an October 2019 report by the ACLU, over 5,400 children have been separated from their families at the Mexico border since 2017. On the 4th July 2020, 80 Artists used skywriting to protest the injustice of immigration detention in the US. The dramatic display, a project entitled In Plain Sight, was organized by artists Cassils and Rafa Esparza. 80 artists were urged to create phrases that highlight the national injustice. A fleet of skywriting planes flew over 80 sites showcasing the messages in 20 different languages. These messages included “Shame #Defundhate”.

125-150 People Illegally Raving in Renowned Toronto Hotspot:

Goldie, A Famous Toronto bar has just lost its liquor license as well as its ties with Dragon’s Den Toronto entrepreneur Michele Ramanow after it was discovered that it hosted a secret party that violated social distancing rules on the evening of June 26th. It is reported that the owner and manager of Goldie will face charges for acting against rules implemented during a declared emergency.

2020: The Year Kanye West Re-announced his Run for Presidency:

On Independence Day in Los Angeles, infamous rapper Kanye West declared that he will be joining the race to the presidency, staying true to his word after his announcement in 2015 that 2020 would be his year to enter the political race. Twitter was his platform of choice to inform the world, stating “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020VISION” In spite of his deceptive confidence regarding his change in career path, it is reported that he has not officially filed as a presidential candidate with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC).
