14% To 33%:  Emmy Nominations for People of Colour Double in 2020

Emmy Nominations have diversified since 2019, but only to a certain extent. According to the LA Times‘ analysis of racial/ethnic/ diversity in Emmy Nominees from 2015 to 2019, the awards have not been representative of those who tune in, with the stars of the show being predominantly white and male. Research shows that 33% of the nominees in the categories examined are Black, an improvement from the 14% in the five years prior. However, Latino nominations were still noticeably low despite accounting for 18% of the population. Furthermore, Asians, who make up about 6% of the U.S. population, made up a shocking 1% across the categories studied.

$2.55 Million for Bella Thorne’s Hot Pink Los Angeles Home

Actress Bella Thorne’s Sherman Oaks home has both wowed and confused LA buyers. The hot-pink house is a spectacle, with its interior boasting every color of the rainbow and extravagant murals expressing the star’s creative individuality. Covering a quarter of an acre, the gated property has a 4,500-square-foot floor plan with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a center-island kitchen, a living room, a master suite, a marble bathroom, a huge walk-in closet, and a swimming pool, spa and patio.
